A Grade-5 Research Assistant position is available as part of the Shelf-Life: Re-imagining the future of Carnegie Public Libraries project, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

The post holder will contribute to the creation of a digital archive of public library buildings, using computer vision methods to automate analysis of the architectural style of building components. The work will also involve participation in survey work that will require site visits in the UK. This is a part time post, offering the chance to undertake a PhD at Cardiff if desired. It would suit a graduate in computer science with an interest in computer vision.

A Grade-5 Research Assistant position is available as part of the Shelf-Life: Re-imagining the future of Carnegie Public Libraries project, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. The post holder will contribute to the creation of a digital archive of public library buildings, carrying out measured and photographic surveys including extensive site visits and travel across the UK as well archival visits to New York and Edinburgh. The work will culminate in publication of a book as well as various online media. This is a part time post, offering the chance to undertake a PhD at Cardiff in tandem if desired. It would suit an architect, surveyor, buildings archaeologist or architectural historian.

Lecturer

The Welsh School of Architecture wishes to appoint a full-time Lecturer. This post is primarily a teaching role and the post holder will be expected to undertake a full teaching load, including the development, delivery and evaluation of modules within the undergraduate and postgraduate qualification provision within the School. This will include leading an architectural design/studio module. The post holder will supervise students and carry out administrative and academic management duties within the work area as required. The post holder will pursue excellence in teaching inspire others to do the same.
