Health Impact and Economic Value of Meeting Housing Quality Standards

In 2001 researchers from Cardiff University developed an observation tool to assist with the assessment of urban residential environments.

The Residential Environment Assessment Tool (REAT) was designed to provide a contextual measure of the quality of the neighbourhood environment. This emerged as part of the Energy and Environmental Prediction (EEP) model, designed by the Welsh School of Architecture to help local authorities to reduce CO2 and other emissions.
