Special logos & identities
The University maintains a strong presumption against the development and use of sub-identities and associated logos within its own administration and academic schools.
Schools, institutes and research centres should always use the Cardiff University logo, rather than developing an individual identity.
In most cases it is possible to achieve communication aims another way without the need for a new sub-identity. The Communications and Marketing department is happy to provide advice.
In exceptional circumstances where there is justification for identifying the School, Institute or Centre on stationery, the Communications and Marketing department will ensure that any logo or design is compatible with the University’s branding and bilingual guidelines.
In all instances applications for sub-identity development must be submitted by the Head of School/Administrative Division to the Communications and Marketing department for consideration prior to any design work being undertaken.
