The project aims to enable, support and help\u00a0build a sustainable marine energy sector in Wales.\u00a0It provides the independent and world-class research essential to move the marine renewable energy industry forward.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sites.google.com\/site\/shunqipan\/_\/rsrc\/1387057726459\/research\/lcri-marine\/LCRI1.png?resize=533%2C309&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"309\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hydrodynamic Impact of Open Boundary Conditions<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The project includes the development and application of tools which optimise the performance of the technology that recover energy from waves, tidal streams and tidal ranges around the Welsh coast.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, we consider the likely effects that these devices have on the environment, such as their effect on seabed communities,\u00a0sediment transport and\u00a0marine wildlife.
