Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK)

Cardiff Confucius Institute is a test centre for the HSK proficiency test.  The HSK is an international standardised examination that tests and rates your Chinese language proficiency.

The HSK test assesses non-native Chinese speakers’ abilities in using Mandarin Chinese language in their daily, academic and professional lives. There are three levels of speaking tests and six levels of writing tests.

Chinese Proficiency Test Dates 2017

Cardiff Confucius Institute is running the HSK on the following dates in 2017:

  • 22nd April
  • 15th July

Youth Chinese Test (YCT)

The YCT is the test specifically designed to assess young foreign students’ abilities to use Chinese in their daily and academic lives. It consists of a writing test and a speaking test, which are independent of each other. The writing test is divided into four levels and the speaking test has two levels.

YCT Test Dates 2017

The YCT will be available to take through the Cardiff Confucius Institute on the following dates in 2017:

  • 18th March
  • 22nd April
  • 13th May
  • 19th August
  • 18th November
