Cardiff University Enterprise runs exciting challenges and competetions throughout the year to help you to develop your skills and knowledge and to enable you to design creative solutions to problems and put your ideas and innovations into practice.
We have shortlisted four ideas to compete against Cardiff Met and the University of South Wales for the Kindle Fire. Congrats to: Rosanna Cocks, Marc Castro and Amy Spencer-Rogers! We will keep everyone update as to the outcome of the final round of judging.
Enter your club, society or team into the Innovation Challenge to win BIG CASH PRIZES. Each participating team is given an everyday object and asked to create as much ‘value’ from it as possible e.g. artistically, financially or by having a social/community value. The results are submitted in the format of a short 3 minute video and the winners are selected by a panel of prominent judges.
Cardiff University will be competing again Cardiff Metropolitan University and The University of South Wales. The winning team from Cardiff University will get £750 and two runners up will receive £125. The winner will also be put forward to compete in the finals for a chance to win further £750 cash, in total giving your society the chance to win £1500!
iSolve allows entrepreneurial postgraduates and researchers to work with real inventions in order to determine the best route for their commercialisation.
When you join an iSolve team, you and other highly qualified postgraduates and researchers will spend a semester collaborating with Cardiff University’s research labs. You and your team will work with a new technology and focus on building a “go-to-market” strategy for these labs.
iSolve is open to all postgraduate students and research staff.
Funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, Ignite is an intensive 4 day programme to designed to take you on a journey towards becoming enterprising in your chosen career; be this a business start-up, a social enterprise, the voluntary sector or within an established organisation.
You’ll be put into teams with students from Cardiff University and from other Universities, and you will work together throughout the week to develop your ideas, build your skills and use your innovative skills.
The week ends with an ‘Apprentice’ style challenge where each team is given seed funding and one day to use that money to make a profit. As long as it’s legal – how you do this is up to you!
Concept is your chance to get to work on a real LIVE brief for a major company. You’ll have three days to come up with an advertising campaign for. Not only will you learn valuable skills in marketing, branding and advertising you’ll get hands on experience working with a real client and pitching your concepts to them.
