{"id":16,"date":"2013-12-03T09:13:00","date_gmt":"2013-12-03T09:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.cardiff.ac.uk\/europeangovernance\/?page_id=16"},"modified":"2017-10-24T09:37:35","modified_gmt":"2017-10-24T09:37:35","slug":"activities","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/sites.cardiff.ac.uk\/europeangovernance\/activities\/","title":{"rendered":"Activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EGIPP\u2019s research activities are organised around:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Three Thematic Priorities<\/li>\n<li>Seven Research Clusters<\/li>\n<li>The Wales Governance Centre<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It has three thematic priorities around which its various research clusters are integrated:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Globalization, Europeanization and their domestic impacts on European states and sub-national governance.<\/li>\n<li>National and territorial identity formation at different levels of governance.<\/li>\n<li>Contemporary policy and political challenges to European states, the integration process and sub-national governance<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The three broad thematic priorities integrate work within and across the seven main specialized research clusters:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Specialization on different European states in their comparative and international contexts<\/li>\n<li>Comparative European local and regional governance<\/li>\n<li>European-level and comparative economic governance, especially the Euro Area<\/li>\n<li>Europeanization of governance and public policies<\/li>\n<li>European political parties<\/li>\n<li>Europe and the wider world<\/li>\n<li>Contemporary challenges to public policy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Many staff members work in more than one cluster.<\/p>\n<p>EGIPP acts as an umbrella for the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/wgc\/\">Wales Governance Centre<\/a> through a shared interest in comparative territorial governance.<\/p>\n<p>It also acts as a bridge between the Political Theory Unit (shared interests in normative ideas of governance and in legitimacy) and the Histories, Memories and Fiction Unit (shared interests in identity formation and cross-cultural communication).<\/p>\n<p>Within the University EGIPP has particularly close links to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/carbs\">Cardiff Business School<\/a>\u00a0(on European territorial governance),\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/claws\">Cardiff Law School<\/a>\u00a0(on Europeanization and devolution), and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/encap\">ENCAP<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/jomec\">JOMEC<\/a>\u00a0(on European communication studies).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EGIPP\u2019s research activities are organised around: Three Thematic Priorities Seven Research Clusters The Wales Governance Centre It has three thematic priorities around which its various research clusters are integrated: Globalization, Europeanization and their domestic impacts on European states and sub-national governance.
