London-based Dryads Duo was formed in 2010 by violinist Carla Santos and pianist Saul Picado. The Duo performs lesser known repertoire from the late 19th century to the present day. After being awarded first prize at the Prémio Jovens Músicos Competition in Portugal in 2011, Dryads Duo has performed throughout Europe on the concert stage and at festivals.
Their first CD was released in 2012 (Fundação GDA – Musical Managements Copyrights) featuring works by Janáček, Ravel and Enescu. In 2016, they released a second CD which includes works by Elgar, Szymanowski and Respighi entitled Intimate Colours.
This concert is part of the 2017/18 concert series at the School of Music.
