  • Dr Dimitris Potoglou

    I am a Lecturer in Transport and Applied Choice Analysis. Prior to joining the Cardiff School of Planning and Geography, I worked as a Research Policy-Analyst at RAND Europe, a not-for-profit research institute based in Cambridge, UK (since 2008, now part-time) and a post-doctoral fellow at the Delft University of Technology, Netherlands (2006-2008).

  • Professor Robert Huggins

    I was appointed as Chair of Economic Geography at Cardiff University and Director of its Centre for Advanced Studies in September 2011.

    Prior to this I held a chair at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (2008-2011), and a Senior Lectureship at the University of Sheffield (2005-2008). I also have private sector experience managing a research and management consultancy.

  • Mike Biddulph

    I am a graduate of the Oxford Brookes University Joint Centre for Urban Design. I lectured on urban design in the University of Liverpool from 1992 until 1999 when I came to Cardiff.

    I am interested in the how planning systems deal with design issues. I am interested in the planning and design of neighbourhoods and residential areas, the design of public space, and in particular the design of street environments.

    I am interested in design thinking and practice and its relationship with the social sciences.

    I teach all aspects of urban design theory and practice and run various forms of design studio.

  • Dr Andrea Frank

    I am a Senior Lecturer in Planning and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I have a background in Architecture and Planning and have studied in Germany and the USA.

    I have been at Cardiff University since 2000. I am teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate - mostly focusing on physical master planning and urban design. I am also teaching creative problem solving techniques and public participation approaches.

    I am promoting internationalisation and regularly participate in Erasmus mobility. I am also highly active in international networks that foster the exchange of planning knowledge, research and pedagogy such as the Association of European Schools of Planning and the Global Planning Association Education Network.
