I am a senior lecturer in the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences, Cardiff University. I gained a BA in Earth Sciences at Oxford University and a PhD in Palaeoceanography at Cambridge University.

I study how Earth's climate has changed in the past, over the last 65 million years.

About my research

I analyse microscopic fossils from seafloor sediments to reconstruct how Earth's climate has changed over the last 65 million years.

I am particularly interested in how Earth's ice sheets have responded to changing levels of CO2 in the atmosphere.
