Advocating IL to staff and students

There are many demands on the student curriculum, including ensuring that the requirements of professional bodies are met. It can be difficult for academic staff to make space in the course to integrate or embed information literacy. Therefore it’s important that you are able to explain the value of information literacy to academic staff in your School and the benefits of ensuring it is integrated within the curriculum.

This chapter provides a toolkit of sources and tips to help you advocate for information literacy.
