Case Study – Xerte Online Toolkits (XOT)
I recently created a series of online tutorials for a distance learning course using Xerte. These tutorials support students to develop their information literacy skills.
From my experiences I found Xerte quite simple to use and the tutorials were easy to update and share. You can embed content such as videos and images; and create tables, diagrams, quizzes, games and other interactive activities.
You can also share your tutorials with other staff and work collaboratively on learning objects. The learning object can be made available as a web link or embedded in Learning Central (the VLE). The main disadvantage with Xerte is the visual look of your learning object is limited.
Further information is available on the Xerte Community Website.
