Creating and Communicating a Research Profile
Twitter is an under-utilised tool that can, foster collaboration, encourage academic engagement with the general public and generally boost the profile of an individual, department or research centre. Law Lab’s Project Twitter is an experiment designed to eliminate the two most cumbersome barriers in the way of academic participation on twitter- those of the need for large time commitments and technical know-how. Law Lab will provide academics and PGRs with personalised comment cards upon which they can easily add a snippet of their research or provide research-based commentary on a topical debate using only basic software. Staff can then tweet their content via the Law Lab’s twitter account. The intended outcome is that with a low time commitment from individual participants, the Law Lab will collectively build an engaged audience for each individual’s research that will harness Twitter as a tool for creating and communicating a research profile.
