Opening of the new Business School building

29 September 2014

It was a real pleasure for me to formally open the new Cardiff Business School Postgraduate Teaching Centre. This £14.5m building will provide a learning and teaching hub with state-of-the-art lecture theatres, executive study zones and a high-tech ‘trading room’ to attract the very best business students from around the world. The new Centre embodies our international ambitions: not only will it help us attract tomorrow’s best students, but it will also help us deliver executive education programmes for today’s business leaders, building long-term partnerships that bring significant mutual benefits to the Business School and the University.

The business case for this building was only agreed by Council in March 2013 so approval to delivery has been rapid. It makes me realize how quickly we can progress once everything is in place. The completion of the Estates Masterplan, due to be presented to Council on 15 December, will enable us to make progress in many further areas of development. Let’s hope they all come in on time and on budget as this project has.
