Launch of the Flagship Engagement Projects

21 October 2014

Tonight I had the pleasure of launching our flagship engagement projects at the Senedd with the First Minister, Carwyn Jones. The projects aim to improve health, education and wellbeing, reduce inequality and tackle poverty, among other goals. All this will be done hand-in-hand with the communities involved. These are ambitious aims which are closely aligned to those of the Welsh Government. Some of you were there among the large audience. It included senior politicians, community leaders and influential figures from Welsh public life.

The University of Namibia, which is working with us on The Phoenix Project, sent a delegation over for the launch:

  • Ms Petrina Haingura, Deputy Minister for Health and Social Services
  • Miss Emily Sivhute, PA to Deputy Minister for Health and Social Services
  • Dr Jacob Sheehama, Deputy Associate Dean, School of Medicine, University of Namibia
  • Mr Alois Fledersbacher, Registrar, University of Namibia
