Information and advice about the criminal courts is available from the Youth Justice Legal Centre <\/a>which covers Wales and Engalnd.<\/p>\n

Rights, support and participation<\/h3>\n

There is a lot of information on children’s rights in Wales on this Children’s Rights Wales<\/a> website.<\/p>\n

The Children’s Commissioner for Wales Act 2001 sets out the Commissioner\u2019s functions,\u00a0 originally established under the Care Standards Act. The Children\u2019s Commissioner for Wales Regulations 2001 <\/a>\u00a0No. 2787 (W. 237) apply.<\/p>\n

Children and young people can contact the Children’s Commissioner on free phonelines or texts – details\u00a0here. <\/a><\/p>\n

Advocacy<\/h3>\n

Meic<\/a> is a helpline for young people needing advocacy services. It also has resources for parents and professionals <\/a>supporting young people, with details of local services.<\/p>\n

There is a Code of Practice for advocacy services<\/a> that incudes those provided for looked-after after children.<\/p>\n

Rights to contact with brothers and sisters<\/h3>\n
