'Y tu hwnt i ddwyieithrwydd – y diwydiant treftadaeth a’r Gymraeg’ - Dr Dylan Foster Evans

Adeilad John Percival

Mae’r Gymraeg yn rhan o dreftadaeth Cymru, ar y naill law, ac yn gyfrwng i gyflwyno a dehongli’r dreftadaeth honno ar y llaw arall. Ond hyd yma, cymharol ychydig o sylw a roddwyd i le’r Gymraeg yn y ‘diwydiant treftadaeth’, y tu hwnt i’r angen i sicrhau dwyieithrwydd wrth gyflwyno treftadaeth i’r cyhoedd.

The Welsh language is a part of the heritage of Wales, and is also a medium through which that heritage is presented and interpreted. So far, however, relatively little attention has been given to the place of Welsh in the ‘heritage industry’, beyond the need to ensure the bilingual interpretation of heritage to the public.
