What it means to live in a low-carbon economy

Jonathon Porritt, Founder Director of Forum for the Future, delivered the second Hadyn Ellis Distinguished Lecture to a capacity audience on Monday 16 November 2009 at the Julian Hodge Lecture Theatre.

During an engaging and lively lecture, Jonathon spoke about the need for people to take on a sense of personal responsibility if we are to get anywhere near success in tackling climate change.

Jonathon Porritt is Founder Director of Forum for the Future. Established in 1996, Forum for the Future is now the UK’s leading sustainable development charity, with 70 staff and more than 100 partner organisations, including some of the world’s leading companies.

In memory of the late Professor Hadyn Ellis (1945-2006), the Hadyn Ellis Distinguished Lecture Series brings speakers of international distinction to Cardiff University to deliver prestigious public lectures. Previous speakers in the series include Mary Robinson, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Sir David Attenborough, and Shami Chakrabarti.
