Commercial Development

Cardiff University supports an innovative environment for the creation, acquisition, dissemination, transfer, application and exploitation of knowledge outside the academic environment.  Technology Transfer describes the processes required to prepare your knowledge or technology for commercialisation. This can include patenting, licensing and new company formation, as well as Knowledge Exchange with the Creative Industries.

The aim of The Technology Transfer Group is to promote, raise awareness and to publicise the importance of knowledge/technology transfer and commercialisation of research outputs.

The University also encourages members of its academic staff to undertake high quality work on behalf of external organisations. Such projects can bring direct benefits to the external organisation and may enhance research, learning and teaching activities.

Commercial Development within RACDV aims to develop mutually beneficial links with all forms of industry and commerce and is proactive in its support for University staff who wish to provide consultancy and services to business.
