Cardiff University have a plethora of academic expertise that can complement and impact on the Creative Economy and Creative Industries. In many cases Humanities research is reliant on Creative Industry to communicate and develop ideas beyond the academic paper, while the Creative Industry is reliant on Humanities research to inform practice and create content.
Cardiff University are keen to develop links and partnerships with the Creative Industries in Cardiff, Wales and Beyond, and understand that a symbiotic relations between the two sectors is imperative to positive economic and social development.
A number of networks are currently emerging to support development of these links. Cardiff University is active within REACT through their own network REACT in Wales, and well as the recently developed Creative Exchange Wales Network (CEW-N) developed by the University of Glamorgan and St David’s Day Group. Cardiff University also have strong links Arts Council Wales and their various branches, and the Welsh Government Department of Business, Enterprise, Technology and Science (BETS), with a focus on Creative and Digital Industries.
