Offering a new approach to care

The MediEmo mobile application provides patients undergoing fertility treatment with additional medical and emotional monitoring and support during fertility treatment.
Introducing MediEmo. The MediEmo not only guides the patient through drug management and medication during the stimulation phase of treatment but also engages with the patient every day in order to monitor mood and coping, particularly during the luteal phase (i.e., waiting period before pregnancy test).   Mood Management This feature lets the patient record their mood on a daily basis using the Daily Record Keeping (DRK) intervention (Boivin &Takefman, 1995) to help them and the clinic keep track of how treatment is affecting them. Medication Timeline This feature allows the clinic to show the patient the fertility drugs they are due to take. This feature is programmed to send daily reminders to the patient to administer their drugs at specific time points which are determined by the clinic. Coping and Support This feature provides the patient with theoretically derived, positively endorsed coping and support techniques, namely the Positive Reappraisal Coping Intervention (PRCI; Lancastle & Boivin 2008).This provides the patient with an extra source of support during treatment, especially during the waiting period for pregnancy test. Information This feature gives patients general information about the clinic and staff and answers frequently asked questions about treatment and reactions. Notifications This feature stores a record of notifications (e.g., drug, drug dosage change) and activity (e.g., whether the patient has recorded their mood) on the app for the patient to review at any point during treatment.
