engagement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Friends of the Supergrid<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In June 2015, MEDOW\u00a0joined forces with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.friendsofthesupergrid.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Friends of the Supergrid<\/a> to bring together research groups and other institutions carrying out work which will contribute to the European Supergrid.\u00a0 Friends of the Supergrid is Europe&#8217;s largest industrial alliance for electricity interconnections and advocates for an efficient, interconnected and resilient electricity grid to complement existing national transmission infrastructure.\u00a0 It combines companies in sectors that will deliver the High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) infrastructure and related technology, together with others that will develop, install, own and operate that infrastructure.\u00a0 In April 2016, MEDOW and Friends of the Supergrid co-hosted a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ieee-energycon2016.org\/hvdc-workshop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Special Session on Offshore and HVDC Grids as part of the IEEE International Energy Conference &#8211;
