We went out into the Valleys to Mountain Ash Comprehensive School. There we delivered workshops on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sharewithschools.wordpress.com\/workshops\/romans-in-wales\/\">Romans in Wales<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/sharewithschools.wordpress.com\/workshops\/medieval-society\/\">Medieval Society<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/sharewithschools.wordpress.com\/workshops\/wwi\/\">Cardiff in World War One<\/a> to\u00a0forty-nine\u00a0pupils in years 7, 8 and 9 respectively.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mountain Ash Share with Schools visit\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_tDxr1Zax0c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>On the trip were:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Coordinators<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kostas Trimmis<\/li>\n<li>Jon Langston<\/li>\n<li>Olja Mladjenovic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also joining them were the <strong>staff members<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professor Paul Nicholson<\/li>\n<li>Dr Steve Mills<\/li>\n<li>Graham Getheridge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Steve and Paul were seeing some new integrations of their Heritage Lottery Fund project Images of an Antique Land with the existing WWI workshop. This involved the creation of a new &#8216;persona&#8217; to investigate based on genuine research, as well as a new postcards from the front activity based on some gorgeous replicas of real-life postcards.<\/p>\n<p>Most importantly of all, the\u00a0following <strong>volunteers<\/strong> gave up their time and effort to deliver some awesome presentations and workshops:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ben Dillon<\/li>\n<li>Gemma Bush<\/li>\n<li>Jack Tenniswood<\/li>\n<li>Kieran Murphy<\/li>\n<li>Chris Parry<\/li>\n<li>Clara Freer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thanks all!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A big thank you to our ineffable volunteers and the awesome pupils and staff today.
