Your Future Roadmap

Use our future roadmap to help you plan what steps to take next, tailored to where you are on your career journey.

We understand that it can be difficult knowing where to start with your career development. At university, time is precious and it’s important to spend the time you do have in a way that best suits you and where you are in your career journey. That’s why we have created these interactive future roadmaps – one for each year of undergraduate study and one for postgraduate students.

You can use these maps to gain inspiration for your own career development and identify what kind of activities will help you, depending on where you are in your course.

In Year 1, we imagine students will be exploring their interests, skills, career ideas and motivations, as well as university life and the wider support available
In Year 2, we imagine students will be developing – both their employability skills and personally, as they gain work experience and confidence in recruitment processes
In their final year, we imagine students will be getting ready for what’s next and applying for graduate jobs, schemes or postgraduate courses
We have a future roadmap for postgraduate students on a one-year course

Remember there is no one perfect route to follow when planning for your future – everyone is unique and so is their career journey. These roadmaps are designed to help offer inspiration and ideas and act as a useful guide to anyone looking for some direction with their career development and making the most of their time at Cardiff University.
