The purpose of these events is to provide an opportunity for people to engage with the College, meet members of staff, and find out about our plans for the future. It’s also a chance for people to have a say on the direction of the College – its strategies and priorities. There has been a great deal of change in recent years and the College structure is still fairly new. We hope that these events will provide an opportunity for some quality engagement and help to build strong relationships going forward.

You are free to come and go as you please – it’s up to you.

At 11:30am on 13th & 14th Professor Dylan Jones will deliver a short presentation about the College of Biomedical & Life Sciences. It will provide a perfect opportunity to find out more about what we’ve done over the past few years and what the future holds. If you can’t make the start you are still welcome to pop in at any time between 11:45am – 3pm.

Following the presentation we want to encourage people to view the exhibition event at their own pace and come and go as they please. There should be something for everyone so you are invited to visit for 2mins or 2 hours – it’s up to you. Every aspect of the College will be on display along with the relevant people. This is about everyone having an opportunity to engage with staff at the College, find out more, and work on ways to develop things for the future in partnership.

It’s not all serious stuff – we’ll have some fun things too!

  • We’ll be holding an inter-School Nintendo Wii bowling competition
  • There will be a ‘Big Brother’ diary room for those who wish to discuss their thoughts through video
  • Most importantly we’ll have tea / coffee and cake available throughout the day!
Diary RoomThe exhibition event will be very informal and we hope that by holding one event at the Cathays campus and one event at the Heath campus we can catch most people from across the Schools. There will be an opportunity to engage with all the teams based at College level and it’s incredibly important that we hear the views of people working within the Schools on issues such as HR, Communications, Finance, IT, Research Themes,  etc… There are some challenging times ahead and we need to be working together to overcome them.
  • Hopefully the College is aware of all the challenges ahead of us but have we captured them all?
  • Are we focusing on the right priorities?
  • We’re delivering some big projects but what more needs to be done?
  • How can we continue to develop engagement across the College?

We are trying to deliver an event that is as flexible as possible. An opportunity for people to engage in things that are relevant to them but at the same time fitting things in around a busy diary.

We will be sending out invitations shortly and we really hope you will take some time to come to one of the events. Should you have any questions or queries please don’t hesitate to contact us – bls@cardiff.ac.uk / 029 2068 8647
