well-done

Nominations are open to line managers (and individuals in exceptional circumstances) to apply for a financial award for their direct reports whose contribution has been appraised as exceptional, and worthy of particular recognition. To nominate an individual, all you need to do is read the guidance document and complete the application process, which includes submitting a statement (500 words max) on the individual’s outstanding contribution and completing the form within CoreHR – Nominations close on 31 July.

  • You can receive an award if you’re not covered by the Senior Salary Review scheme and if you’ve had an appraisal in the previous 12 months. If you’re on probation, you must have completed all relevant probation reviews.
  • If you are a line manager, it is your responsibility to review those staff that you appraise, and make a decision whether or not to nominate them within the annual submission window.

There are two types of award:
Outstanding Contribution One-Off Award
A one-off lump sum award for exceptional contribution and performance to the University.

Sustained Outstanding Contribution Award
An accelerated increment or contribution point for exceptional contributions over at least two years.

Both types of award are given annually. You can be recommended for and receive both an award and a promotion in the same year. However, the awards are not a substitute for promotion, and recommendations should not be based on a growth of the job.Find out about getting nominated and nominating other people.
