Dr Yaser M. Sahl Award his PhD

Friday 23rd of January was a great day for the lab as Yaser was awarded his PhD entitled “Exploiting C. elegans to investigate the key combinatorial toxicology associated with the marine environment in the proximity of Jeddah city in the Red Sea”.

His examiners were Professor Christer Hogstrand (KCL) and Dr Kelly Berube (Cardiff) with Professor Eshwar Mahenthiralingam as Chair. Yaser may have been my 29th PhD student to graduate but I still paced around the office for a tortuous three and a half hours – it never gets any easier. Yaser and family have traveled back to Saudi Arabia where he will return to the Saudi Geological Survey. He will be extremely missed by myself and the Cardiff team and we wish him all the best.
