CUSO tour, Day 1, Oberwesel

“Our hostel is settled in to, sleep is caught up on, rehearsals are underway and Cardiff University Symphony Orchestra are officially on tour!

“Considering it had been seventeen hours since we all tumbled out of bed and onto our coach, spirits were incredibly high when we turned down the valley that led to our first hostel. Our hosts had a selection of fresh foods prepared and the musicians joining us from all over Europe were ready and waiting to get to know everyone. Naps on the coach had restored us enough to ensure that we could stay awake just long enough to spend a lovely evening exploring the hostel; discovering the balcony and the beautiful views off of it, getting to know each other and settling into our rooms.

“It is a beautiful day today. The sun is shining, lunch smells wonderful and Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture is sounding great. The music can be heard all over the hostel, so here’s hoping the rest of our guests are thoroughly enjoying listening in.
