What is the UK Cross-linking Consortium?
The UK Cross-linking Consortium was established in 2013 with funding from the Medical Research Council and is dedicated to the dissemination of information about keratoconus to ophthalmic surgeons, vision researchers and patients.
The UK Cross-linking Consortium strives to:
- Provide a forum for ophthalmologists and vision scientists to develop research collaborations and co-ordinated multi-centre studies.
- Establish a code of best practice for corneal cross-linking in order to standardise the treatment and its measurement outcomes.
- Provide credible information and advice to national bodies about developments in corneal cross-linking.
- Publicise clinical trials to increase public awareness of ongoing clinical research studies.
