As part of our research efforts one of our fundamental objectives is to let the world know about our findings. Here you will find magazines, journals and other media where INSPIRE activities and results have been published.
- INSPIRE has being mentioned in Materials World, the member magazine of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. The article qualifies landfills around the world as potential goldmines. To read the full article click here.
- On February 2016 INSPIRE members were present at the Third International Symposium on Enhanced Landfill Mining held in Lisbon Portugal. Some of our most recent findings were presented:
- In situ microbial dissolution of iron mineral-bearing wastes for metal recovery. In this oral presentation it was explained how to utilize indigenous bacteria to reduce and dissolve iron oxide minerals to facilitate metal mobilisation and recovery whilst in-situ.
- Electrokinetic treatment in the recovery of valuable metals from waste repositories: Metal speciation and transient behaviour of metals during EK. In this presentation we presented information regarding how to improve the extraction and the recovery of metals from a waste repository using an electric field.
