Wheal Jane

Wheal Jane is a disused tin mine near Baldhu and Chacewater in West Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The area itself consisted of a large number of mines. – Wikipedia

Dreadfully famous for a water pollution event in 1992, today Wheal Jane mine is an example of bioremediation of Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) (Whitehead and Prior, 2004).
