Dan completed his PhD under the supervision of Profs. Peter Kille and Andrew Weightman at Cardiff University and Dawn Field at CEH-Walingford/NBAF.

His focus was on host-community interactions in invertebrates, with an aim to elucidate on the contribution that associated microbiota has to the host species. This is assessed primarily with Next Generation Sequencing techniques investigating metagenomics and microbiomics in earthworms.

Dan now works as a bioinformatics lecturer for the School  of Biosciences
