Research
My research focuses on:
- Molecular Phylogeny of earthworms (principally on Hormogastridae, endemic to the Mediterranean area)
- Cryptic speciation
- Reproductive Biology of earthworms
- Application of molecular markers in the study of earthworms
- Adaptation and genetic response (gene expression and epigenetics) of earthworms to stressful environments (i.e. volcanic environments and toxicology)
