The conference venue will be the Park Plaza Hotel, a city-centre venue only a 5 minute walk from Cardiff Queen Street Station or 15 minute walk from Cardiff Central. The hotel is on Greyfriars Road, just off the main shopping area of Cardiff Queen Street.
There will be a Mac laptop, projection facilities (including a screen) and a flip chart in the lecture room. You are more than welcome to bring your own laptop.
The lecture slots are 60 minutes in length but 10-15 minutes should be left free for questions.
We would like to make the lectures available electronically. You can share your file using dropbox or via email to Haley Gomez if the file size is less than 10Mb.
Our Location
Cardiff is served by 2 airports – Cardiff airport is the nearest one and is only 30 minutes travel time from the city centre. A frequent bus service connects the Airport with Cardiff, then a 20 minute walk will get to the School.
Cardiff can also be reached by Bristol International airport (50 miles) with train journey bringing you into the heart of the city centre. Firstly, take the Bristol International Flyer bus service that runs every 10 minutes from the airport to Bristol Temple Meads train station (£6 fare). Once at Bristol Temple Meads, the train service to Cardiff Central runs every 30 minutes. A one-way ticket costs around £15. If you are arriving during the day, it will take around 2 hours to get from Bristol airport to Cardiff University.
The Bristol International Flyer also makes a stop at Bristol Bus Station, where you can catch the National Express coach service to Cardiff. Coaches run far less frequently than trains, around every two hours and tickets cost around £10.
Accommodation and costs
Lecturers may book their own travel and accommodation and claim the costs. Several hotels and B&Bs are located within a 5 – 20 minute walk from the site – see this list.
