Credit for the premise of this work goes to Ramona Naicker .

 Tutorial aims

By the end of this tutorial you will have:

  • Awareness of the issues and consequences of underrepresentation of minoritised ethnic populations in research
  • Awareness of the difference between race and genetic ancestry and how this relates to research

By the end of this tutorial you will be able to:

  • Apply this awareness to assess and evaluate sources

The information in this tutorial will introduce you to subjects and ideas that can be sensitive, emotionally challenging, and triggering for some people. Because of this, it’s crucial that you pay attention to your emotions, don’t apologise for them, and take the time to consider their causes and the effects they are having on your wellbeing.

No data will be collected from any of the activities in this tutorial.
