Access to XPS – A Thank You!
Through provision by the EPSRC, Cardiff University hosted a free access X-ray photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) service for the academic community through the “Access to Research Equipment Initiative” (EP/F019823/1). Over the 4.5 year funding period, we welcomed a large number of PhD and post-doctoral researchers, together with their academic supervisors from an incredibly diverse range of academic fields through our doors.
In this scheme, the visitors were taught the fundamentals and application of XPS to their problems and analysis in a variety of analysis packages; ranging from the widely used CasaXPS software, through to Excel and Origin. The success and quality of the service is evident by the number of publications that arose during the active period – and some still are being published – of the service.
All papers are linked via the DOI service or the appropriate home page for your ease of viewing. Note that the publications here are not exhaustive, and through the wide range of projects we have helped with, we may have overlooked some – please let us know if that is the case, especially with Thesis!
Again, we thank all the users for the exciting science we shared and aided in.
