Cardiff Science Festival – 16/02/2026
17 February 2026
Yesterday, SHARE with Schools was at the Cardiff University ‘Be a Scientist!’ event as part of the Cardiff Science Festival. Held in the Sbark/Sparc building, the event saw researchers from across the university deliver a range of exciting activities showcasing the amazing variety of things that scientists do.
We talked to visitors about how archaeologists often use science to find out about the past. We brought out our Keyence Digital Microscope, which we used to take a look at some of our artefacts, spanning from the Paleolithic to the 20th Century!
We also played ‘Bone Snap’ – four humeri (funny bone in your arm) were laid out and visitors were asked to determine which animal each of them belonged to.
A huge thank you to the organisers of the event, and to our volunteers: Sophie, Izabella, Megan, Lily, Gwennan, Sophie, Isabelle, Naomi and Melissa!
