My SHARE with Schools Experience: Volunteer Blog Post – Pedro Karipidis Gamonal
7 May 2025Partaking with the SHARE with Schools program was one of the most unique and valuable experiences that I have gained during my time at Cardiff University. During my time with the program, I aided in redeveloping our “Cardiff in WWI” workshop that we normally give to students across the city. I gained a lot of valuable experience and knowledge about constructing a workshop, from researching the correct information and working as a team to create a workshop that would interest students about a higher education in History. Furthermore, I was fortunate enough to aid in teaching Archaeology to Year 7s at Fitzalan High School, in Cardiff. Before the day I was quite nervous, especially realising the pressure of teaching young students about archaeology for the first time, but over time and realising how lovely and willing to learn many of the students were, it was simply a joy to help the students with the workshop.
