Spatial-temporal distribution and transportation of drifting macroalgal blooms in the coastal waters of the Shandong Peninsula

Large Floating Macroalgae
Blooms in China

Dingfeng joined the group in Aug 2019 as a visiting academic scholar from Institute of Oceanographic Instrumentation, Shandong Academy of Sciences for 12 months. His work is focused on the spatial-temporal distribution and transportation of drifting macroalgal blooms in the coastal waters of the Shandong Peninsula. This research builds on the existing numerical modelling framework in the Yellow Sea with implementation of the essential mechanism of occurrence of macroalgal blooms, supported by the remote-sensing data.
