Project: Mechanism of bank collapse and abnormal change of river regime in bends

Although great progress has been made in the simulation of sediment transport and evolution in the river bends, the near-bottom velocity, longitudinal average velocity, free water surface height, riverbed deformation, etc. calculated by the model are not completely consistent with the measured data. The degree of coincidence between the simulation results and the measured data is related to the bend shape, and the calculation results of different models also have great differences. Therefore this study is to use the optimized 3D model to gain a better understanding of the mechanism of bank collapse and abnormal change of river regime in bends, as well as the characteristics of sediment transport.
