Work Package 5: Network training events

All 12 ESRs attended the network training week in Porto, Portugal.  See the event webpage for details.

Meetings of the Supervisory Board and Training Steering Committee, which oversee MEDOW’s researcher training activities took place.  Cardiff University’s draft Network Training Programme was distributed to Supervisory Board members.  The Programme will be a working document throughout the project and will act as a record of completed network training and a plan for future training.  Researchers from outside the network will also be invited to attend network training activities, when appropriate.

Work Package 6: Training of individual ESR/ER

Meetings of the Supervisory Board and Training Steering Committee, which oversee MEDOW’s researcher training activities took place.  All ESR Personal Career Development Plans (PCDP) have now been peer reviewed by a member of the network and approved by the Training Steering Committee using the MEDOW PCDP Approval Process.  ESRs will continue to monitor and review their PCDPs with their supervisor(s) and Work Package leaders.

Plans for the approval and monitoring process for Experienced Researcher (ER) PCDPs were laid down.

Work Package 7: Dissemination and outreach activities

Now that most of the network’s researchers are in post and are making progress on their projects, MEDOW foresees plenty of dissemination activities to come!

Details of MEDOW’s publications and public outr3each activities can be seen on the Dissemination webpage.

All researchers and supervisors have received the most recent version of the MEDOW dissemination guidelines, a written procedure which aims to offer guidance to network members on all types of dissemination activity.

Work Package 8: Network management

The MEDOW website has been launched and is updated regularly.

Three network-wide meetings have now taken place (May 2013, December 2013 and June/July 2014)

The planned schedule for future network meetings was discussed and update at the June/July meeting in Porto.

To date, all 12 ESRs and 2 ERs have been appointed.   Recruitment of two further ERs is currently underway with the fifth ER expected to be recruited later in 2014.
